Typological fragility analysis of masonry buildings in Emilia Romagna region (Italy)

Abstract UnReinforced Masonry (URM) buildings constitute the majority of Italian building stock and represent one most vulnerable construction typologies, as emerged during seismic events occurred in last decades. The objective present work is proposal a methodology for vulnerability fragility assessment different typologies URM buildings. Through statistical analysis post-earthquake damage survey forms census data, prevalent structural were identified Emilia Romagna region (Italy), leading to definition two reference masonry buildings, built at beginning XX century representative study area. These modeled according equivalent frame method their performance was studied by means nonlinear static analyses, considering uncertainties on mechanical properties masonry, intensity action displacement demand calculation method.
